Week of November 24
Our unit test did not go so well for everyone so I will be giving everyone another shot to demonstrate the expectations. I think we will try again on Wednesday next week during our period 2 timeslot and see if that's better.
Introduction to quadratics this week - things go up, must come down!

This week was all about substitution and elimination.
You should be able to find your POI (point of intersection) using both methods
Week of November 3
Quizzes were well done. We need to practice graphing y=mx+b
Goals for this week: be able to rearrange an equation in y=mx+b form and be able to clear fractions from an equation
Your Google doc should be updated with the picture of the train as well as your picture.
Week of Oct 27
Your goals this week are to be to state the slope and y-intercept of an equation or of a graph. For homework, try graphing y=4x+8, y=-3x-5 and y=2x-12
Test 1 can still be submitted for re-assessment
Well done on your quizzes!!! We will have another quiz on Monday.

We began Unit 3 this week. This was linear functions.
Remember that your test number 1 can be resubmitted for a possible 1 level increase. Questions must be completed on a separate piece of paper and resubmitted with your original test. Class time will not be given for this task. Please use the math help room in room 56 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunch.

I hope you had a great long weekend! Only 4 days this week. Please remember to bring a phone or ipod that can take a picture. We will begin working on your summative which includes analyzing photographs.
